Our second (smaller) radio event is now complete ! We broadcast two programmes from Sandford Mill Museum on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd April 2017, coinciding with IMD, International Marconi Day, on Saturday, & 'Marconi's Birthday Bash', a Sandford Mill open day, on Sunday.

Our colleagues from CARS, the Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society, operated GX0MWT from the 2MT 'Long Low Hut' on both days with CW morse & HF SSB transmissions, and on Sunday the brothers Chapman - Chris G0IPU & Andy G7TKK - were multitasking in the main Barn area with amateur radio demonstrations & hands on radio controlled model systems. Colin G0TRM was also busy with his interactive Morse code displays, resulting in an excellent demonstration of many aspects of radio, appropriate for the weekend celebration of Guglielmo Marconi.

Our good friend Tim Wander was also kept busy on Sunday with guided tours of the Sandford Mill Museum exhibits, however we managed to have a chat on our Saturday programme !

On Saturday we sited ourselves on the mezzanine floor of the Museum overlooking the Hut, & enjoyed testing out our portable battery operated 'radio station in a case' with a 2 hour programme between midday & 2pm. On Sunday we moved outside & as well as Radio Emma Toc we also demonstrated amateur radio, radio scanning, & aircraft tracking. Thanks to Bob G4MDB & all others who helped, & thanks to all who tuned in & visited us at Sandford Mill.  Again - 'it was all rather fun'...!

(PS - Apologies for the microphone distortion during these programmes, as well as the duplication of some songs... - I put it down to trying to juggle too many things at once ! - It's all in the spirit of experimentation... Hopefully we'll get it right next time !).
